Sunken eyes

A woman who remains anonymous has had a second encounter with a strange and terrifying creature in La Pampa, Argentina. On the 20th of October at 8pm she was just entering her house when she noticed a strange presence in her living room. The being placed a hand on her arm which left scars. Various items of furniture were strewn over the floor. Her dog was found cowering under furniture. The being is described as standing nearly two-metres tall. ‘Slender but very strong,’ the witness reports. ‘Its eyes appear sunken into its face’ but that they emanate a sensation of ‘tenderness’. I feel great

Jodie Foster – not the actress but one who lives along Parmac Road in Chico – has become accustomed to paranormal events in her home. She suffered from ghost sightings, nightmares, and electrical appliances turning themselves on and off. Shortly after moving in the house in 2000 her daughter began seeing a lady in white who would kiss her on the forehead before she fell asleep. One particular dream that Foster had was that of a woman being tortured, and a woman being buried in a mountainous location. It all culminated recently when Foster fled the home at 3am with her daughter in her arms; inside the house the clocks were spinning, the lights were flashing on and off and Ernie the doll was continually saying ‘I feel great’! It was only after she left the house that she learned of its history. A previous couple who lived there abducted a young girl and kept her as a sex slave for seven years. The ghostly events are still occurring with the new residents. Foster believes the ghost is crying out for justice. (Source: The Orion: 3rd November 2009).

Wild hairy creature

Two buses containing high school members of the Regional Children’s Choir were returning to Baradine from a camp-fire evening at Odell’s Crossing, near Pilligia Forest, New South Wales, Australia. As the first bus approached Odell’s Crossing the driver, Daisy Mathews, saw something that ‘resembled a strange human being moving behind trees’. She reported: ‘It seemed to be confused and dazzled by the headlights. Most of the kids said they had seen something, but there was such a lot of commotion and noise which really must have scared the creature away.’ The second driver would only comment that there had been ‘someone’ on the track. But a thump on the side of his bus as they passed unnerved him and his passengers. Mathews describes the creature as a ‘wild-looking hairy figure. Sightings of the Yowie have a long history in the area.’ (Source: Coona Baraban: 29th October 2009).

Justin Potts of the Indiana Paranormal Group is drawn to the now closed Central State Asylum Hospital on the outskirts of Indianapolis. He says that a strange atmosphere descends on the place after dark, and has recently experienced some strange occurrences while investigating the premises. He said sometimes ‘spirits’ reveal themselves in the hospital as strange shadows, mist-like clouds or tiny orbs of light. Pott has EVP recordings in which something appears to say, ‘Follow me’, along with, ‘Can you help me?’ (Source: Indiana Daily News: 28th October 2009).

Missing girl abducted

A girl missing in the Ural region of Russia is now being considered by some to be the victim of a UFO abduction. 11 year-old Lisa Hlupinoy disappeared three months ago from her town of Salda while out with three boys of the same age. They claim they do not know what happened to the girl as they got lost after being chased by white beams of light that chased them. The boys were also lost but found three days later. The girl’s body has not yet been found. (Source: allnewsweb: October 2009).

Scariest place in the West

Robb Canyon in Northwest Reno, near Rainbow Ridge, USA, has long had a reputation of being haunted, which comes as a bit of a surprise to the locals! According to the Haunted Robb Canyon blog people have reported ‘unexplained cold spots, invisible forces that push or tug at visitors, blood curdling screams, and shadowy specters’. The screams are alleged to come from a multiple murder in the 70s, yet no trace of these murders can be found in public records. The blogs on the area even claim that the local police have given up attending calls to the area – a claim they strenuously deny. Even residents who have spent years in the region say they have no knowledge of the spooky incidents. (Source: rgj.com: 24th October 2009).

Flying cryptid

Lon Strickler of the website Phantoms & Monsters received the following report: ‘We were in Pacific, MO, tonight around 11:30 pm and noticed a massive flying creature, not once but three times. We were near a large cliff/ mountain with some type of cave openings. We don’t live in the area. I can say for sure we turned onto a road called Viaduct Road, went past a fire station and continued on for about 1 mile before we first noticed it. It was brownish/grey and the body portion was at least the size of a large adult human. This creature was tracking us in a circle pattern. The third time around we viewed it in front of the vehicle, around the driver side and around towards the rear of the vehicle. Please understand when we could see it the range must have been about 150 feet in the air, not more than 250 feet. The distance was never less than 100 yards, often much greater. Bandit country

A television crew returning from filming a documentary on local bandits dressing up as police spotted a UFO over the city of Rio Branco in Brazil’s remote Amazon district on the 24th of October. They immediately set up their cameras and took footage of the ‘craft.’ Camera man Jason Fernandes said: ‘The craft was oval shaped and hovered in the area for over an hour. If I didn’t see it for myself I would have never believed accounts of people who did. Meanwhile over at Palmas, Brazil, a businessman saw an orb approach his car and then match his speed, he took two photos with his mobile telephone. His wife reported a green orb along the same road a year earlier. (Source: MUFON, allnewsweb: October 2009).

Folsom prison blues

Ghosts walk the corridors and cells of the prison according to James Brown, operations manager for the prison’s museum. A ghost has been seen walking around the front gate on several occasions and it is believed to be the spirit of a prison officer killed in a riot in 1927. All the usual occurrences are reported: ghostly footsteps, figures disappearing and strange unexplained noises in the night. After one such sighting all the prisoners were rounded up for a head count but none were missing. One guard knowingly explained that it was the ghost. A figure was seen walking around the catwalk, but when challenged to stop he ignored the requests. The guards opened fire – the figure carried on walking and then disappeared. Champ

Two minute mobile phone footage was taken by Eric Olsen of a creature in Lake Champlain on the USA/Canada border. It is said by some to be the best evidence for the existence of ‘Champ’ to date. In mid October the witness took the footage near Oakledge Park, Burlington, and reports: ‘I was just filming the water when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move, and I turned toward it and tried to zoom in on it. You can see that it is moving horizontally, across the water, and vertically, going under the surface and coming back up. It struck me as something that was long, that it didn’t have much girth.’ Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman called for ‘a formal forensic analysis … to break it down frame by frame’.
