In Iran a UFO was tracked following an Iranian missile launch. Lon Strickler of Phantoms & Monster reports that: ‘Something travels left to right cutting through the cloud… then reverses direction right to left expanding the opening through the cloud. The object is more defined at the .46 second mark. It seems to stop and reverse in less than a second. Some may say this is an Iranian jet, but I highly doubt it.’ Even more dramatic is the claims that the Iranian Air Force actually shot down a UFO on the 12th of October. First observed were three bright pulsating lights over the Persian Gulf which ignored all hails. One was shot down but the wreckage has not yet been found. For the past three years Tom and Deborah Weaver, of Cleveland, Ohio, home claim to have been ‘visited by spirits on an almost daily basis’. Tom Weaver said: ‘It seemed to start with one spirit, and then progressed to the point where we identified seven of them. Our dogs were the first to notice that something strange was going on in our living room. I was really sceptical, and I really didn’t want to believe in any of this. But after enough stuff happened to me, I had to admit that something very special is going on here.’ Deborah continues: ‘It started with our dog, Trouble, barking and chasing something we couldn’t see in the living room. We actually took her to the vet because she was acting so strangely. She would start to stare into space and start pawing at something that we couldn’t see.’ Then the couple began seeing and hearing unexplainable things in the living room and hallway. Laura Templin, Deborah’s sister, was an unbeliever until an unseen someone touched her head and shoulders. She ran out of the house. (Source: wykc.com 7th October 2009).
When a famous tantric guru boasted on television that he could kill another man using only his mystical powers, most viewers either gasped in awe or merely nodded unquestioningly. Sanal Edamaruku’s response was different. “Go on then — kill me,” he said.
Mr Edamaruku had been invited to the same talk show as head of the Indian Rationalists’ Association — the country’s self-appointed sceptic-in-chief. At first the holy man, Pandit Surender Sharma, was reluctant, but eventually he agreed to perform a series of rituals designed to kill Mr Edamaruku live on television. Millions tuned in as the channel cancelled scheduled programming to continue broadcasting the showdown, which can still be viewed on YouTube.
First, the master chanted mantras, then he sprinkled water on his intended victim. He brandished a knife, ruffled the sceptic’s hair and pressed his temples. But after several hours of similar antics, Mr Edamaruku was still very much alive — smiling for the cameras and taunting the furious holy man.
“He was over, finished, completely destroyed!” Mr Edamaruku chuckles triumphantly as he concludes the tale in the Rationalist Centre, his second-floor office in the town of Noida, just outside Delhi.
US police are searching for a man who bit a taxi-driver on the neck like a vampire.
Officers in New York are currently searching for the male who threatened the driver with a semi-automatic handgun and attempted to rob him.
When the driver refused to hand over his takings, the man lunged at the taxi driver’s neck, back and arms and bit down hard.
The attempted burglar was being driven near the Bronx Community College, when the driver refused his requests and he eventually ran from the scene with empty hands.
Aliens could be the latest to weigh in on the nuclear waste storage debate after UFOs were spotted near the proposed Territory facility.
Muckaty Station manager Ray Aylett said he saw UFOs hovering over a part of his station north of Tennant Creek last Wednesday.
He said he spotted strange lights between the two sites on the property under consideration for the dump.
“I keep getting out the torch, I wanna get them down to have a beer or a steak but they won’t come down,” he said.
He said one of the two sites was attracting most of the attention from the sky.
“At one of the sites, two UFOs followed me – I was going to Helen’s Springs and two followed me along the road,” he said.
“I thought ‘bugger you, if you wanna go past, I’ll pull over’ I pulled over and they went.
“Later, when I got to the Helen Springs turnoff, two came in front of me – in the same night.”
But the latest sighting was slightly to the west of the homestead, placing it in an almost perfect equal geographic distance from the two sites.
“I went out to turn the lamp off and there was one out there in the west, he was there for a fair while,” he said. “He was just above the horizon – was there for a while and then went.
“It was like an orangey-coloured light – an orangey-coloured star.
“He was just sitting there. I’ve seen some good ones moving.”
The Barkly Shire councillor said most people think he’s mad over his UFO sightings, which have made him a Territory celebrity.
“They’ve been coming ever since I’ve been at Muckaty, for 13 years,” he said.
“They’re funny things, I reckon there are people on Earth, so there have got to be people out there.
“Everybody reckons I’m mad, but you’ve gotta be hunting them.”

A strange halo cloud was observed and filmed over Moscow by millions of people in early October. News sources say it was a ‘bright ring-shaped cloud hanging over the city’s western districts’. But scientists say that it is nothing unusual: ‘It’s a purely optical effect, even if a spectacular one,’ said one spoilsport. ‘You can see really strange things if you watch the clouds regularly. Several air fronts have passed Moscow recently, including an inflow of cold air from Arctic, and they combined to produce such a phenomenon.’(Source: russiatoday.com 7th October 2009.
More and more people are reporting their experiences with these mysterious entities, be they ghosts, aliens, inter-dimensional beings or figments of an overactive imagination. Tabby recalls the time she was staying at her boyfriend’s house, in an undisclosed USA location, when alone upstairs in the bedroom a large black human shape leaped from one side of the room to the other. She reports: ‘I was sitting on the bed, facing one of the walls when suddenly an enormous dark shadow seemed to leap from one side of the room to the other, as if it was jumping from one wall to the next, and then “hit” the lamp, knocking it over with a loud crash. I screamed and my boyfriend came running upstairs asking me what I did. Of course, I indignantly told him it wasn’t me; it was the weird shadow-thing. He angrily told me to stop lying and I helped him clean up the broken light bulb.’ Typical of the reports are that of a family who recently moved in to their New Jersey home, from day one they saw the fleeting glimpses of the black human-like figures. None of the children liked the home, and the house had an oppressive feel as though they were constantly being watched. One witness reports on the Mothman.com list: ‘Has anyone else been seeing an unusual amount of shadow creatures? I don’t know what is going on in our neighbourhood, but we’re seeing lots of them, and we’re even seeing them in the daylight, which we haven’t before.’ (Source: Mothman.com – Stephen Wagner, September 2009).
The turritopsis nutricula species of jellyfish may be the only animal in the world to have truly discovered the fountain of youth.
Since it is capable of cycling from a mature adult stage to an immature polyp stage and back again, there may be no natural limit to its life span. Scientists say the hydrozoan jellyfish is the only known animal that can repeatedly turn back the hands of time and revert to its polyp state (its first stage of life).
The key lies in a process called transdifferentiation, where one type of cell is transformed into another type of cell. Some animals can undergo limited transdifferentiation and regenerate organs, such as salamanders, which can regrow limbs. Turritopsi nutricula, on the other hand, can regenerate its entire body over and over again. Researchers are studying the jellyfish to discover how it is able to reverse its aging process.
Because they are able to bypass death, the number of individuals is spiking. They’re now found in oceans around the globe rather than just in their native Caribbean waters. ”We are looking at a worldwide silent invasion,” says Dr. Maria Miglietta of the Smithsonian Tropical Marine Institute.
Video footage of a UFO was taken over Asturias in Northern Spain in late September. Some reports say that the footage is not very clear and nothing much can be made from the footage. Meanwhile, a Scottish holiday maker while standing on his hotel balcony in Benalmadena took footage of what he believes to have been a mysterious craft. Raymond Meyer, of Guardbridge, Fife, saw the object a few hundred yards away hovering for about 15 minutes before it drifted towards him, turned on its end, rose in the sky and then disappeared from sight. He said: ‘I filmed the object from my room balcony on Saturday, September 12, at 8.45pm. I had watched the object for about five minutes before getting my camcorder and recording it. After I had recorded the sequence the object drifted towards me, turned on its end then went vertically up until it disappeared from view. Unfortunately, my camcorder wouldn’t refocus to film this. Since returning from holiday, I’ve shown numerous people the footage and it’s left everyone speechless.’ The footage can be found on YouTube. Karen Griffiths, curator of the Howard County Museum, USA, knows the sounds an old building can make after everyone has gone home, but it is the footsteps that she has heard on many occasions that still perplex her. She said: ‘I have never felt afraid, really. But I will hear a strange noise now and then and it surprises me more than it scares me. I still hear the footsteps now and then; I don’t like to be the last one around to close up.’ No one is ever found when she investigates the empty building. Cool blasts of air rushing by her and her printer often turning itself on of its own accord are other things that make Ms Griffiths feel she is not alone. A recent night’s investigation by Colin McGuinn of the Greater Maryland Paranormal Society did not produce any evidence for a haunting while they were in attendance, however.
