New name, same old ghost
The Victory Bar at 118E Sixth Street in Tucson, Arizona, is now called Gooch’s Grill, but all patrons know of the ghost that lurks in the rooms whatever the sign says outside the door. After closing time ‘bottle caps are flicked by unseen fingers, the swinging saloon-style doors that lead up to the second floor office will swing back and forth for no apparent reason [and] lights turn off or on by themselves.’ The ghostly figure of a woman is also sometimes seen and crying can often be heard. Although the ghost is well known throughout the area, no one knows its identity, although the present owner, Lon Wirtz, believes that a woman had been raped and murdered on the spot where the establishment now stands.
