According to local dignitaries ‘unseen visitors’ are causing misery to the Abonmai clan in Khunkhu (Ariang) Liangmai village, India. The villagers say that ‘unseen hands’ inject them with blood using syringes when they are asleep. Sometimes the syringes are left behind. Pink eggs in polythene bags are found hanging on gates and fences and whoever sees them first will suffer from stomach or eye ache, some even have needles poked into their eyes. The trouble for the villagers has been happening since February 2002. Clothes catch fire, possessions are robbed and letters in red ink are found naming the next family who will be ‘tortured’.
