Strange things are happening down at Port Columbus National Civil War Naval Museum in the USA. An invisible something is throwing books at visitors and staff alike, one book landing squarely in the back of a bemused patron, who then looked accusingly at a nearby member of staff. Books are landing up to seven feet away from their original position, sometimes landing standing straight upright. Staff are used to this and say it is a regular occurrence. Bruce Smith, the museum’s executive director, said: “We have these continued unexplainable dumping of books on the floor. … We don’t know what the deal is. We’ve looked, and we can’t figure it out. We think we’ve got these things anchored pretty good, and the next thing we know, crash! And there’s nobody in the store.” (Source: Ledger Enquirer: August 2009).
Lon Strickler who runs the excellent Phantoms and Monsters news service, reports on a recent case in the Nevada Desert. “Two teens (one male and one female) were alone in their car near the Fallon Naval Air Station at 9:18 p.m. when they encountered odd lights in the sky towards the east. Three boomerang-shaped objects were then seen with five lights on each. One of the objects separated from the group, shut down three of its five lights and appeared to be about to land or crash. At this point, the two witnesses decided to give chase. After driving 3 1/2 miles, one of the objects moved closer to their vehicle… about 100 yards away and just 20 feet off of the ground and began to pace it. A second object positioned itself behind them. At this point, they accelerated but the objects kept pace. The male teen used a high-powered spotlight and shined it directly on the craft above. He then used his hand to shade the light back-and-forth to produce a crude signal. The object then responded by descending from 50 feet to 20 feet above them. At that point, the teens seem to have a lost time period. Their next recollection was driving home, where the male teen recalled that he looked into the rear view mirror and noticed that one of the objects was a ‘considerable distance’ behind them, and then it disappeared.” (Source: Phantoms & Monsters http://naturalplane.blogspot.com).
The UK is still being invaded by foreign species. An eagle owl was recently spotted in Cardiff, and local residents were warned to lock up their pets. A group of skunks are reportedly living in the Forest of Dean: one was handed into a local wildlife centre in July and another was a killed by a car. Now another has turned up in a garden in Coleford, Gloucestershire, which is thought to be one of a pair sighted a few days earlier. In the same area, colonies of Lasius neglectus, the so-called Asian super ant, has been found at Hidcote Manor, near Chipping Camden. In Rutland a motorist believes she saw a South American Capybara ambling across the road near Exton. Kate Tudno-Jones recognised the enormous rodent from zoo trips and then confirmed her suspicions on the internet. Nigel Spencer of the Rutland and Leicestershire Pantherwatch said that more reports of a capybara have come in from Exton, and Buckminster. A couple were working in their yard near the Dulles Airport, Washington DC, when they saw “three black triangular shaped objects” that they initially thought were birds. One of the witnesses reported to MUFON: “The three objects seemed to be circling around each other, but at the same time, were ascending. Very suddenly, one of them zipped quickly across the sky, from east to west. I was able to follow the object with the naked eye, but it was very quick – and not a bird. The other two triangular, dark metal looking objects seemed to still be circling around each other, like a dance. The other two then followed the same direction as the first, and all turned southward and left our line of sight.” (Source: MUFON).
The ghostly image of a young boy was captured on camera as builders demolished an old school building.
John Fores, 47, insists the spectral figure was not present when he took the picture of the part-demolished brick building.
But when he looked back at the images he spotted the boy, aged around eight with short hair and wearing a dark top, standing on the right of the picture looking into the camera.
Mr Fores was carrying out demolition work on the site at Anlaby Primary School, near Hull, East Yorkshire. He took several pictures on his mobile phone to record the demolition work.
He said: ‘I took the pictures just after noon. I took a few and at the time didn’t notice anything.
‘When I put the pictures on the computer and I saw the figure, the hairs on the back of my neck stuck up.
‘I couldn’t believe what I had seen. I didn’t believe in ghosts, but since I got this picture I am not so sure.’
The image of the young boy is exceptionally clear, but the builder insists he has not altered the picture in any way.
The school, which is still in use, was built in 1936.
Caretaker Gordon Bradshaw, 54, said it has a reputation for being haunted.
He said: ‘I’ve been here 29 years and the kids have always said there is a ghost at the school. I’ve never seen anything though.’
Rob Taylor, of the Hull Paranormal Ghost Society, said: ‘I have never seen anything as clear and as distinctive as the boy in the picture.
‘I am aware of people using mobile phones and getting orbs and misty images. It needs further investigating.’
Defence officials’ insulting remarks about the public had to be blanked out of government UFO files before they were made public, a memo has revealed.
The Ministry of Defence had agreed to publish its full archive of reported sightings in response to a deluge of Freedom of Information Act requests.
But the once-secret memo, published on its website, reveals “uncomplimentary comments” were edited out.
Comments on international relations and defence technology were also deleted.
Thousands of pages from the department’s UFO files have been released through the National Archives since 2008, revealing details of reported flying objects and encounters with aliens.
The newly released memo to ministers and defence chiefs, dated September 2007, discusses how to make the largely “low security classification” information public.
It notes they “include references to air defence matters, defence technology, relations with foreign powers and occasional uncomplimentary comments by staff or police officers about members of the public, which will need to be withheld in accordance with FoI principles.”
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) recorded UFO sightings from the end of the Second World War until it shut its special investigation unit on 1 December last year.
Officials feared publishing only part of the information would “fuel accusations of a ‘cover-up’,” the document reveals.
“Contrary to what many members of the public may believe, MoD has no interest in the subject of extraterrestrial life forms visiting the UK, only in ensuring the integrity and security of UK airspace,” it says.
“The MoD is aware of no clear evidence to prove or disprove the existence of aliens, and consequently the files are considerably less exciting than the ‘industry’ surrounding the UFO phenomena would like to believe.”
The fifth instalment of MoD UFO files was released last week, revealing reports of a large triangular UFO hovering in the skies above former home secretary Michael Howard’s home near Folkestone, Kent, in March 1997.
Security guards at Liverpool’s Croxteth Park have yet again seen the phantom thought to be former resident Hugh William Osbert Molyneaux. The guard said: “I was only covering for someone who was off, so don’t usually work in the park – it’s all a bit spooky.” A picture described by the Derry Journal as “a ghoulish apparition” was taken of a shadowy figure on the steps of St Columb’s Cathedral in the Irish Town of Derry, in early September. As usual the snapper only noticed the figure after developing the film and saw nothing at the time. Spalding Paranormal Investigations claim they have caught the apparition of Catherine Bystock on camera at the former RAF Metheringham near Lincoln. Airwoman Bystock was killed whilst a pillion passenger on her boyfriend’s motor-cycle during World War 2. It is believed her ghost often frequents the area. She has been reported flagging down motorists in full uniform, asking the drivers to help her injured boyfriend. (Sources: Liverpool Echo, Derry Journal, Ardrossan Herald, This is Lincolnshire).
A large tooth measuring 3.8 inches found in the central belt of Scotland was handed over to Big Cats in Britain Lothian’s representative Sam McKeown. Workers converting an old explosives compound dug the tooth out from under concrete. Dr Andrew Kitchener said after viewing photographs: “It looks like a large carnivore’s canine, but I would need to compare it with our specimens to give it a positive identification. It looks like a tooth from an old game head – the splitting is characteristic of teeth drying out indoors.” The tooth has now been sent to Dr Kitchener for identification. A group of anthropologists working with hill tribes in a remote area of India have made a startling discovery: Intricate prehistoric cave paintings depicting aliens and UFO type craft.
The images were found in the Hoshangabad district of the state of Madhya Pradesh only 70 kilometers from the local administrative centre of Raisen. The caves are hidden deep within dense jungle.
A clear image of what might be an alien or ET in a space suit can be seen in one cave painting along with a classical flying saucer shaped UFO that appears to be either beaming something down or beaming something up, in what might be an ancient UFO abduction scenario. A force-field or trail of some sort is seen at the rear of the UFO.
Also visible is another object that might depict a wormhole, explaining how aliens were able to reach Earth. This image may lead UFO enthusiasts to conclude that the images might have been drawn with the involvement of aliens themselves.
Local Archaeologist, Mr Wassim Khan, has personally seen the images. He claims that the objects and creatures seen in them are totally anomalous and out of character when compared to other, already discovered, examples of prehistoric cave art depicting ancient life in the area. As such he believes that they might suggest beings from other planets have been interacting with humans since prehistoric times: Adding weight to the ‘ancient astronaut theory’ which postulates that human civilization was established with the assistance of benevolent space-faring aliens.
A mysterious and headless “sea creature” has washed up on the shore of McIvers on the Bay of Islands in Canada.
Local residents were out in force to take a look at the odd animal, but no one has any idea what species this actually is, if it is in fact a recorded species.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Corner Brook intends to check out the Lower Cove site today hoping to find some answers to the discovery by Warrick Lovell on Wednesday.
“It would be nice to see if anyone knows what it is,” says Lovell. “First I thought it was a seal washed up (on the high tide earlier in the day), but when I went down to check on my boat that evening, I walked over to see and then I knew it wasn’t a seal.
“But, I don’t know what it is.”
The creature is described as 15-foot in length, with a 10-foot tail and a single flipper-like appendage on it’s right hand side. Confused residents will have to wait on the analysis of the DFO to find out just what is lurking in their waters.
