We have received a rather strange set of photos from reader Sara Williamson. She wrote to tell us:
‘I have some really strange pics of me taken by my boyfriend one night around Xmas. I have recently bought a disused chapel with burial ground for conversion and we went to take some pics of it in the snow with a view to making them into Xmas cards. My face is completely obscured by an orange/brown mist on all five consecutive shots, at different angles and different distances from me. The pics of us both are normal. My partner kept telling me to keep still as he thought it was because I was moving. I did not feel or notice anything at the time and could see him perfectly at all times.
‘To be honest I don’t really believe in ghosts etc. but these pics have made me think twice for sure. I am quite uneasy about it all now because I have to live there when its finished. There are approx 150 people buried in my garden plus a cemetery vault with three in as well. There are only 7 headstones though but there are lots of children in there. To be fair I am a bit scared now. Other people in photos are unaffected. I’m just unlucky I guess. My 4 year old daughter has never mentioned seeing anything but my two cats that live in the shed are frightened to death of something and are constantly hiding and won’t come out. This is not their normal behavior they are usually lap cats. I am a veterinary nurse and not at all used to this weird stuff!’
Odd camera effects do occur, especially in low light, but it does seem strange that this anomaly appears to be following Sara around over several pictures. Any suggestions as to what could have caused this strange obscuring of Sara’s face would be gratefully received – by Sara as well as Paranormal. Please leave your comments below.

These are always difficult cases. I think there are a few reasonable explanations that needs to be verified. I did get such results with old film rolls, when there were flaws in certain batches, it would get the same effect of browns and reds, even fiery flame effects. But if it’s a digital camera, you can rule that out. I would have checked the camera very meticulously for any flaws, raindrops, smudges, dust, dirt, snow, or even make-up on the lens. But can the reproduce it again with the same or another camera? that would be great of course.

Looking at the pics it seems the mist is in exactly the centre of the camera shot on all of them.. Could have been a spec of dust on the lens or could have just been down to the temperature.. Had the blur been in different areas of the shot I would have said maybe a bit odd but with them all being in exactly the same place to me this suggests it’s a camera fault of some kind and nothing else

The photos all seem to be taken in roughly the same spot so light can have strange effects. What sort of camera was it and how much processing did the photos have?

The camera is a samsung digimax A503. these were the only affected pics in 20 taken on the same night. The ones of us both are unaffected. Our church renovation requires pictures to be taken at each stage and recorded to archive. The same camera is being used for this and all pictures since taken are normal. The pics you see are exactly as they were taken and remain on the memory card for any inspection.

I too have this happen to me. It has gotten to the point where my wife says stuff like “I printed a picture of you today, but it has that weird wisp around your head again.”
I believe Sara is also experiencing this same phenomena!

Why would i try and fake these pics, i have neither the time or the knowhow to do it anyway. No money has changed hands either so its not a money making exercise.I just wanted an answer. camera fault, weather conditions etc would suit me fine as i,m as sceptical as the next person, but the cameras fine and they are exactly as they were taken. If you want to spend the night in my cemetery garden feel free.

Could you please post some other photos? Maybe take them with a different Camera?
